National Wear Red Day

Heart Health Month

Today is national Go Red day; the day we all band together wearing red to kick off Heart Health month and raise awareness for the importance of heart health. Throughout the month we’ll post heart healthy tips, tricks, statistics, recipes and more. Stay tuned all month to learn ways to ensure that you and your loved ones keep healthy, support the great initiatives of Go Red For Women, and raise awareness for a great cause.

Why heart health? Roughly one third of adults in the United States have high blood pressure (hypertension), according to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. After age 55, women are at increased risk of hypertension, a major contributor to cardiovascular disease. So, heart health is one of the most important components of overall health and well-being.

So put on your best red dress and let people know why. Because by the end of the day, everyone should know why Women Go Red!
