Caregiver Naseema Charania

February Caregiver of the Month: Naseema Charnia

Congratulations to Naseema Charnia, our February Caregiver of the Month! Naseema has been with CaraVita since 2010. Below is a letter we received from Naseema’s client that summarizes why she is so deserving of the award.

Dear CaraVita Beth Cayce:

My name is Sharon K., and I am writing on behalf of myself and my parents, Edward and Thelma B., who have been receiving caregiver services from your agency since July 2010. I have not had the pleasure of meeting you personally, but would like to do so when possible. The purpose of this letter is to give you some feedback about Naseema Charnia, our full-time caregiver. First, I would like to say that I have been intimately involved in selecting caregivers for my parents from a variety of agencies for over five years, and thus have seen a wide spectrum of intellect, caring and skills. I am a physical therapist myself, and my standards for caregivers are high. Naseema is one of the best caregivers that we have had, and I wanted to make sure that you were aware of the fantastic job that she is doing for my parents on behalf of your agency. Naseema is not aware that I am writing to you, but you may share this with her if you desire.

Naseema is very punctual, reliable and dedicated. She has an excellent attendance record. She is very patient with my parents and very thorough with her duties. She is organized, intelligent and quick to detect changes in condition. She is an excellent communicator to me, and she will even call me on her own time if she feels that I need to be aware of something. She uses her time very productively, and if my parents are resting, she busies herself with other tasks without direction, versus just sitting. She has the rare ability of seeing what needs to be done and doing it, without needing to be asked or directed. She dresses professionally, and interacts with medical personnel appropriately when accompanying my mother to appointments. She has high standards of cleanliness, and keeps their equipment, apartment, linens and clothing very clean, and routinely sanitizes surfaces to minimize infection. She tries to engage my mother in games and activities, and keeps her on an exercise and walking programs to maintain strength. She copes with constant schedule changes and still manages to get everything done in spite of them. I could provide numerous additional examples, but suffice it to say that she is an outstanding caregiver in all aspects. Of course, as clients, we are not involved with the performance reviews and compensation of the caregivers, but I would like to recommend that Naseema’s exemplary performance be taken into consideration and recognized. Thank you.

Sharon K.
